The characters look polished, the backgrounds are detailed, and the animations, while simple, give enough life to scenes that they do not feel like static pages. Players who have bounced between Episode, Choices, and Romance Club will notice the visual upgrade the moment they open their first story.

The game launched back in 2018 and has built up a decent library since then. Stories span romance, mystery, drama, supernatural, and thriller genres, though romance dominates the catalog by a wide margin. You play as the main character, read through chapters, and hit decision points where your choices influence how the story plays out. Want to kiss the love interest? That is a diamond choice. Want to wear the outfit that actually impresses people? Also diamonds. Want to say something that is not passive or rude? You guessed it. The formula is the same one used by Episode and its competitors, where free choices are intentionally weak and the good stuff costs premium currency.

The diamond economy is where Moments loses most of its goodwill. Earning diamonds for free is painfully slow. You get about one diamond per chapter completed, plus a handful from watching ads that are spaced out with cooldown timers. A single meaningful choice can cost 16 to 25 diamonds, and some scenes stack multiple premium options back to back. One player broke it down: 16 diamonds to kiss, then 25 more to continue the scene, then another 25 to go further. That is over 60 diamonds for one romantic sequence, and you would need to grind through dozens of chapters or watch stacks of ads just to afford it. Compared to Romance Club, which hands out around 400 diamonds a month through regular play, Moments feels like it is actively punishing free players.

Stars are the other currency, used as tickets to unlock chapters. You collect them from a “star tree” that refills over time, which is a nice touch, and there is also a daily free story feature that lets you read one story per day without spending stars. These systems are more generous than the diamond side and let you at least keep reading even if you cannot afford the premium choices.

The stories themselves are a mixed bag quality wise. Some are well written with engaging plots and characters that keep you coming back. Others have noticeable typos, awkward dialogue, and pacing issues. Long time players have also noticed that new stories have slowed down significantly. The app used to add two or three new stories per month, but recent updates have been sparse, and some fan favorite series remain unfinished. There are concerns that the developers may be winding things down or shifting resources elsewhere.

The app also has some technical issues. Players report being randomly logged out of their accounts, the app crashing on launch, and purchased diamonds not appearing. Customer support exists but responses can be slow and inconsistent.
